Google recently announced “Core Web Vitals,” a new performance metric that will become a search engine ranking indicator in the coming years. From the statement: Earlier this month, the Chrome team announced Core Web Vitals, a series of metrics related to speed, accountability and visual stability, to help website owners measure experience users of the Internet. Today, we build on this work and provide a preview of future Search rankings that incorporate page experience metrics. Vitals Web Core has three new metrics:Largest content measures the speed of a page viewed by a user; good value is 2.5 seconds. Delaying the first access measures the speed at which a user interacts with a page; the positive value is less than 100 ms. Cumulative Layout Changes measure the visual stability of page content; the positive value is less than 0.1 seconds. Some pages transfer content when the user takes action, which can be annoying. You can quickly verify these metrics on your website by installing “Web Vitals”, a third -party Chrome extension. Google shows the new metrics in the Search Console, PageSpeed Insights, and Chrome User Experience Report.
